“Town” travelled to Bellspark Road, Glebe on Saturday afternoon last to play Glebe United and returned home with a share of spoils following a 2-2 draw.

Despite dominating possession and creating a host of goal-scoring opportunities “Town” were reliant on a Frank Wallace goal and an own goal to maintain their challenge at the top of the Mercer League table. 

“Town” Reserves hosted Reserve League Division 1 leaders Killen Rangers Reserves who scored the game’s only goal in controversial circumstances after 95 minutes. The Reserves’ fourth single goal defeat of the season has severely diminished their aspirations of winning a third successive League title.

“Town” Colts travelled to Ecclesville Park, Fintona to play Fintona Swifts Reserves and crashed to a fourth successive defeat which has left them on the periphery of the Reserve League Division 2 relegation zone. The Colts’ goalscorers were Paul Fingleton and Luke Weaver.

Fixtures for the Brendan Keogh Youth League have recently been released and the opening fixtures for all “Town” Teams are as follows:

Monday 4th April - U-14s v Killen Rangers (home)

Coaching for Underage Teams and Primary School Children takes place at the usual prearranged times and venues.

All players are asked to note that there is no play next weekend because of the Euro 2012 Qualifiers.

“Town” Youth are holding an Evening At The Races in the Atrium Bar, Blake’s of the Hollow on Saturday 2nd April. The first Race will get under way at 7.00pm. Everyone is welcome and a good evening’s craic is guaranteed!
